Using Salesforce in NYC Public Schools
October 15th, 2007 by Marc Baizman

I thought this presentation from Susan Harrison at the NYC Department of Education was really interesting about how they use Salesforce in the Bronx Lab School, and several other NYC Public schools.  The principal, Marc Sternberg, was brought on stage during Marc Benioff’s keynote at Dreamforce.

Ironic. I sent that link in to people at the NYC DOE. Apparently, they already bought an $80 million IBM database. http://www.internetnews.com/bus-news/article.php/3663551

Good luck on getting the IBM db up to speed faster than the Salesforce.com ones that already up. My guess is that the NYC DOE will stop these projects in their tracks to hide their embarrassment.

Allan, you’re probably right, but if there’s a groundswell of support (read: rogue schools) using Salesforce successfully, I suspect that it will make some ripples across the DOE.
